Healing Trauma Through Therapy and Yoga with Louise Holcomb

This week on Balance Your Life podcast I am joined by Louise Holcomb. Louise grew up in south-east London, and had roots firmly planted there while also always pursuing travel and seeing the world. She moved to the US in 2013 to be with her wonderful husband, Jeff, and soon after that, they traveled the states for over 2+ years in their 1984 Chevy van. During this time Louise left for a month-long 200hour YTT in Mexico, which completely changed her life. During the training she unearthed real trauma from her childhood. Since then, she has been on her own healing journey, while studying and teaching trauma-informed yoga. After completing her 500 hr. YTT she realized her passion for sharing the transformative powers of Yoga and Ayurveda, and have been teaching in addiction recovery and for people experiencing homelessness for the last 2 years. She has since launched her own online offerings through Be Moved Yoga, and now has a fully online, self-paced course called Heal Holistically, for anyone who wants to discover true healing through these amazing practices. On this episode we discuss starting her journey with bikram yoga as a form of physical exercise, and releasing childhood trauma through yoga. We discussing healing modalities like therapy, breathwork, meditation, yoga and Ayurveda, as well as the basics of Ayurveda and how to use it in your life.
